My name is Toni Harris, and I am a registered psychologist in private practice in Okotoks, Alberta. I believe strongly in a strength based, client-centered and holistic approach to overall wellness, and I incorporate a number of therapeutic techniques into my practice. I believe that this process should empower you with useful tools and information, and that short-term counselling is often able to address concerns and initiate desired change. I am absolutely committed to developing collaborative and respectful relationships so you are able to safely address vulnerabilities. I am passionate about my role in assisting you on your journey from a place of “surviving” to one of “thriving”.
I regularly pursue continuing education and have accessed ongoing training, development and mentorship in a variety of theories, and counselling and coaching approaches. To satisfy my interest in experiential therapies, I have also had the opportunity to complete an advanced mentorship in Equine Facilitated Learning with Kathleen Barry Ingram.
As a psychologist and a helping professional, I am not immune to problems, struggles or issues. I believe life is an ongoing journey of learning and self-development, and that we are offered incredible opportunities for enhanced authenticity and growth with every challenge we encounter. I believe loving and accepting ourselves as we are is a key step in this process. I strive to cultivate compassion in my own relationship with self and to live with a raw awareness of what matters most in my world. I am forever grateful for the insights that can arise from adversity, and I am thrilled to make a career helping others move along their own path of self discovery, enhanced authenticity and personal transformation.
I am an avid lover of nature, animals, adventure and experiencing deep connection with people. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, herd of 3 horses, 2 dogs and 3 cats. I love camping and the smell of pine trees, I love digging in the dirt and exercising my not-so-green-thumb in the garden, I crave travel (anywhere!), reading and trying new superfood recipes.
